Boltac Greasebands – pest barrier for fruit trees 1.75m Controls Winter Moth, Caterpillars, Earwigs and Ants Easy to Use Winter moth caterpillars emerge in spring and feed on foliage, flowers and young fruit. The wingless female moths climb trees in October, November and December and again in March to lay their eggs. Ants ‘farm’ pests like greenfly and scale insects by protecting them from predators while feeding off the sugary sap they excrete. Boltac Greasebands will effectively trap these pests before they can lay eggs or cause damage. Because the bands and non-drying adhesive are pesticide free, they’re ideal for organic gardening and for use in combination with other methods of control. To save fruit from winter moth caterpillars, apply in early Autumn and keep in place until Spring. To trap earwigs, ants and other crawling pests as they climb the trees, re-apply in May to September.
